About Me

IMG_0175.JPG

I’m a San Diego-based actor and improviser who dabbles in directing and playwriting. I earned my BA in Theatre Performance and Theatre Studies with a Minor in Creative Writing from Saint Mary’s College of California. I also spent a semester training at the Queen Mary University of London School of Drama, where I performed in a collaborative production of Irene at Dr. Johnson’s House in the play’s first public performance since 1749. I also serve as the Development Associate at North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solana Beach and as a Guest Teaching Artist at Canyon Crest Academy.

Fun Fact: I also spend an inordinate amount of time logging every bit of art I consume and would love to have more friends who do the same! I’m on Letterboxd, Serializd, Storygraph, Musicboard, GG, Momento, and BoardGameGeek. Disclaimer: I’m a little behind on keeping them totally up tp date, but I’m slowly getting them back to full speed! Alternatively, if you search @Zugzwanging on any of these or other social platforms, you can probably find me!

Recent Acting Credits: Trip Wyeth in Other Desert Cities (Cygnet Theatre), Jackson in Game Night (2 Rappers 2 Plays) (Old Globe CoLAB/Soulkiss Theater), Dean/Devin in Gloria (OnStage Playhouse), The Harvest (OnStage Playhouse), Eilif in Public Enemy (New Fortune Theatre Company), Franky in The October Night of Johnny Zero (Backyard Renaissance Theatre Company), Silvius in As You Like it (New Fortune Theatre Company), Armand Lumé in Murder at Roland Manor (Thunder Bay Theatre), Narrator in Every Brilliant Thing (Saint Mary’s College), Phil/Dave in Almost, Maine (Solana College Theatre), Richard in Fuddy Meers (Solana College Theatre), Frank in School for Lies (Saint Mary’s College), Tuzenbach in Three Sisters (Saint Mary’s College), and Jean Verse in …And Jesus Moonwalks the Mississippi.

My Artistic Aesthetic

I am a storyteller who enjoys dwelling in the melancholic. I find insufferable gloom and despair to be refreshingly intoxicating. I love to excavate the most despicable moral quandaries and explore the recesses of the human psyche when a person is pushed to their limit.
